This picturesque tower is part of our national heritage. It has been a focal point in the landscape since 1955: you simply can’t visit Bredene without laying eyes on it. Its charming appearance can be seen from miles away, and best of all, you can climb to the top too!
Renovation and transformation
The tower has been restored multiple times over the years. In 1977, its faience tiles were swapped for brick, and in 1994, the famous blue and white stripes were added. Its round pointy roof adds an extra touch of charm.
On top of the world
In 1995, a balustrade was added, as well as ten large windows that offer a grandiose panoramic view. You’re eye to eye with the seagulls up here! Make sure you visit the tower if you’re nearby; your kids will absolutely love the climb to the top. Prepare for their cries of joy once they get there!
The ground floor of the tower hosts a permanent exhibition about water extraction and the role of water in our everyday lives. All in all, a great attraction to spend a little time at.
