Within a certain time frame, parking discs allow free parking in "blue zones." Blue zones are always indicated by a combination of the usual traffic signs and the parking disc symbol.
Procedure
The 'blue zone' regime applies for a full year, from Monday to Sunday. The disc must be displayed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless otherwise stated on the sign below.
Please note: a blue parking disc must therefore be displayed on Sundays and public holidays.
The normal parking time in blue zones is 180 minutes, unless a sign below states otherwise (e.g., "30 min" or "max. 2 hours").
The arrow on the parking disc must be placed on the line that follows the time of arrival.
Example: arrival at 9:53 a.m. The arrow is placed on the line with the number '10'. The permitted parking time is 3 hours and therefore expires at 1:00 p.m.
Amount
The following rates apply for parking on public roads in blue zones:
Free: for the maximum duration permitted by traffic signs and provided that the parking disc, used in accordance with the regulations, is clearly visible behind the windshield of the vehicle.
Fee: EUR 40.00 for any period exceeding the free period.
Exemptions:
- persons who have a parking card for persons with disabilities
- residents who have a resident card
- persons who have a municipal parking permit for healthcare providers
The tax exemption is only granted if the disabled parking permit or municipal parking permit for healthcare providers is clearly visible behind the windshield. If this is not the case, it will always be assumed that the flat rate applies.
